I have a cousin who got a masters degree in applied mathamatics and now works as an options trader. If he wanted he could have gotten a doctorate in gaming theory and made really big bucks. Also, have a friend who did the math route in college and got lots of job offers as an actuary.

id say go into teaching. there is never enough teachers. students struggle and if you enjoy solving problems. then solve problems while educating students. and private tutors make some good money.
