How can I add extra controllers to the WII playground game?

There is a flap on the front of the wii under the reset button. Open it up and there is a red button that says sync. Press that button then on the wii controller you want to add open the flap were the batteries go and there is a tiny red circular button that says sync underneath it. Press that button and hopefuly your controller should be added to the game

No. Some games do not allow the use of a Pro Controller, such as ZombiU (allows it only for multiplayer), New Super Mario Bros. U, NintendoLand, etc. All Wii Us will come with a Gamepad. You basically need a Gamepad just to use the Wii U

Try pressing the two red buttons. One in front of the system and the other in the back of each of the controllers. Press the front one, then the one in the back.

When it asks you how many players hit 2. Then on the other remote (#2) hit the numbers 1and 2 at the same time on the remote.

Just turn the controllers on and there should be an option to use them :)
