You can't compare them, they are two totally different sports with different athletes and different training, and I think they are both here to stay. There will always be boxing fans and athletes, and it looks like Ultimate Fighting is here to stay, and will be getting more and more popular. I'll bet you this though - I'm sure over time regulations will get tighter on Ultimate Fighting once a few guys are killed or permanently injured in the ring. The sport hasn't been around that long, but it will eventually happen, leading to an uprising of protest to the sport for its brutality, and they will have to make new rules as they go. So enjoy the bloodbaths while they last - I am a big fan of MMA.

I would say the future is ultimate fighting because boxing has already been here for awhile so nothing new will probably happen just good old fights, but in ultimate we are going to see alot of surprising things like when Chuck Liddel beat Silva that was a hell of a fight. Well i mean there will be good bxoing matches nothing new will be shown just fighting.

There is no sport called "ultimate fighting" or as you called it "ultamite fighting", the sport is called mixed martial arts.
Mixed martial arts is in it's infancy as far as a mainstream sport, it will keep growing until it reaches boxing's popularity.
The future is: both.

Who can say, MMA looks like its doing very good and might take over boxing, I like MMA better, so much more can happon, the throws the body slams and ofcource the standup game is very interesting to watch and when the fight goes to the ground its great to see the amazing reflexes and stratagy, you never know what will happon, MMA needs more fighter to come in as well

Ultimate Fighting will dominate due to the need for competition in todays society. We no longer have the social confines to keep us in with boxing of being proper. Ultimate fighting is our (United States') form of Gladiatorial Fighting. It gives the brutality that is needed for entertainment with guidelines that makes it permissible legally.

I will say that the fighters will make the sport because that's what you will pay for. You don't just pay for the event you pay to see men like Ali, Sugar Ray, Tyson, Holyfield, Roy Jones Jr, Fedor, Liddel, Royce Grace, Randy and Tito.
Whoever gets the Fighters people will actually want to pay to see will be the big winner. MMa or Boxing. I just want to see big names and great personalities.....
Source(s): MMA has a advantage because of its huge resourse pool of fighters.. You must be good to stay around in Boxing... - negaduckLv 61 decade ago
the sport you are referring to is called mixed martial arts. i like it better than boxing but there is room for both of them
