Sounds like your idle speed is too high, and if it jerks on trying to stop it can be warped rotors, worn pads, uneven brake fluid pressure etc. Your best bet is definitely to get the vehicle into a brake shop.

When brake pads wear down they usually get noisy. Could be the disks are worn. I would most likely suspect low brake fluid or master brake cylinder leakage. Just guessing here.

Same thing constantly happens to my daughters car who is one of those drivers who never seems to plan her stopping...so she is frequently slamming on the brakes. Warps the discs and makes them wear unevenly too I would think.

it could be the brake pads but i think its more like your master cylinder or the front brake calipers being worn out, if you have more than 10,000 miles on the brakes its time to change them

Could be, do you have a five speed or manual? How much pressure are you applying to the brakes?

sounds like your rotors are warped. you could take them off and see if they can cut. if they are old you need to replace them. the trick is to find out which pair you need too change. to me if you can feel the pulse in the steering wheel when you hit the brake, check the fronts first. if not check the rear.

I would suggest to take your car to the showroom garage and have some comments from an expert technical team. If required get it fixed. I had the same problem.

well the jerking of the car... i had the same people with my car and it was the transmission slipping now the car not wanting to stop that sounds like the breaks check your transmission fuel and make sure you have it full and i would have my breaks check too
