Where can I buy insulin without a prescription?

I'm diabetic with no health insurance. No doctor in my area will see me. I've gone untreated for a year now and am getting sicker and sicker. I've already been to the emergency room, where they just give me names of doctors to see. They won't write me a script. If I soon don't get insulin on a regular basis I will die. Public assistance has denied me saying I make too much money for medical. I can't afford a doctor visit and lab work needed before anyone writes me a script. Can anyone out there help me?

Though its no advisable to buy insulin with out a doctors supervision, Regular insulin is over the counter medication. You can go into any pharmacy and ask for it. I had to do this for sometime when I did not have insurance. Good luck.

I can only Answer this question for 2 States, Indiana now requires a prescription, but Kentucky does not, so I drive 2 hours to get my Insulin in Kentucky. This requirement for a prescription is going to get Pharmacists and Doctors killed, as there will be violent repercussions for denying individuals for a life sustaining medicine. It is rediculous that a person who has had Diabetes for several years or decades has to put up with this crap, I am emploring all of you to vote out ever incumbent in every state that has passed this ruling. All of us need to call our lawmakers and complain, and threaten them with a down the road vote, they need to hear us. As for insurance coverage, they could pass a rule that requires all insurance companies to provide insulin and all other medications coverage as though it required a prescription, if it is a life sustaining medication. The biggest problem is the AMA, it is a way for them to get into our pockets and it is a conflict of interest.

    Buy Insulin

If you live in a larger community(or even smaller ones can help)..check with a local church or civic organization to see if you can qualify for assistance.....buying & prescribing your own insulin is a recipe for disaster!!!! Insulin is necessary...so some churches that help people with the cost of their meds will probably help.Have you talked to the social services people at the hospital? They SHOULD steer you in the right direction. It doesn't make sense they won't write you a script...it's not the writing of the script, it you being able to fill it.....and if they recommend a doctor....you should do all you can to see the doctor....this is your life, not a Parchesi game.....the first step to having a chronic disease is to take responsibility....do research....contact the ADA for help....this is not hopeless...believe me, I have been there!....Please be safe!

For the best answers, search on this site https://shorturl.im/awWo1

Go to a doctor and explain your problem...the stuff you get off of the "no prescription" sites is likely to be fake. Fake insulin equals dead user, or at least insulin shock induced comatose user. Do yourself a favor and find a doctor or go to an emergency room.

With the newer types of insulin these days, diabetic diets aren't necessarily as restrictive as they used to be. Read here https://tr.im/a6JKm

As with any medicine or diet change, you should discuss it with your doctor. Fruits, both fresh and dried, have a natural sugar in them that will raise blood sugar levels, so be careful about eating too much. Not sure about the nuts. Moderation is always the key. I've been diabetic for 18 years and just recently changed insulin types. I love it because it gives me more freedom in when and what I eat.

you can buy insulin with out a prescription in the us/ the only reason you would need a prescription is if you would want an insurance company to pay for it- it is stored in the pharmacy - you would need to ask the pharmacist for it - but you do not need a prescription for it GO TALK TO YOUR LOCAL PHARMACIST

You can write to the maker of the insulin companies and tell them you do not have insurance / but you need a doctors signature and they can usually give it to you free

As far as seeing a doctor is there a local clinic/ a non profit hospital, a county hospital,( they cannot throw you out )a local college that has a teaching college that has a medical school that maybe can help you with teaching doctors,

If all else fails Write to the local newspapers and tell them the story about the system that would let a person who cannot afford their medicine Die because he cannot get help from the system to pay for them and he cannot afford them himself.. See how quick you then get help I have tried this it works
