Who are the best films directors ever?

Don't say Peter Jackson or Steven Spielberg because I hate them.

    Most timeless in our generations: Quentin Tarantino

    Classic: (you were serious when you said of ALL TIME, right?)Cecil B. DeMille

    Of films that deal with a racial theme: Spike Lee

    Chick Flicks: Penny Marshall(apology to Jon Avnet)

    Italian: Felini, Felini, Felini

    French: Jean-Pierre Jeunet

    From Spain: Alejandro Amenábar

    Chinese: John Woo

    Gay theme: Pedro Almodovar

    Mind Fcuk: David Lynch

    Odd Films: Tim Burton

    Classic Comedy: Mel Brooks

    Classic Animation: Walt Disney

    Contemporary Animation: Brad Bird

    And David Fincher belongs in there somewhere..

    Yeah, that's kinda weird that you would exclude 2 of some of the best directors in the world.
