How to know if you are overfeeding your red eared slider.?

I give her mosquito larva and some other food for turtles which looks like something dry, umm, I can't really explain by words.no matter. I am going to buy those sticks soon. now my question is,how much should I give her, and how do you know if a turtle is fat?

No you are not overfeeding it... if you are going to give the turtles foof stix then give just one each day if she is a small one or if she is big then give her 2 a day :). A turtle is fat is when it looks like it cant swim prpoerly.

visit http://www.redearslider.com/ for more information. You should only be feeding the amount of pellets you think can fit into your turtles head. no more. And lettuce and other things

you can tell if your turtle is shedding a lot. avoid over-feeding, but feeding your turtle every other day, as much as the size of their head. don't stick with one food. give a variety: pellets, vegetable/fruits, minnows, worms, crickets, and aquatic plants. don't overfeed, it is bad, can cause pyramid of the shell and organ fail.

Please throw away the 'junk food' and get good turtle pellets- Reptomin or Mazuri brand, for example.

Easy to tell if fat. They can't retract into the shell.
