The Law & Order franchise consists of:
Law & Order (1990-present)
Law & Order: Criminal Intent (1999-present)
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (2001-present)
Law & Order: Trial by Jury (March 3rd, 2005 - May 6th, 2005)
This last one (Law & Order: Trial by Jury) was canceled due to low ratings.
Another TV series that was a character spin-off (that of ADA Alexandra Cabot) was Conviction, also created by Dick Wolf. It aired from March 3rd, 2006 to May 19th, 2006. It was cancelled due to low ratings.

If only I had the sense to ask this question before I went to University! I also did what your planning on doing, was inspired by a silly program and decided to study law. I hated it! it was boring because I was under the impression that we got to use our brain and investigate or be persuasive to the court or whatever else. I essentially had to memories books upon books. Luckily I was doing a combined course and switched to criminology which is far more interesting. Best advise I can give is to keep search for the 'one'. Even if it takes time, i never had that luxury because straight after high school i had to go to university. I hope you take my advise and really think about what it is you want to do based on your skills and interests rather then the really good script some writers thought up. Best of luck

"Law & Order," "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," & "Law & Order: Criminal Intent." I think there was a 4th series subtitled "Trail By Jury" as a previous answerer said, starring the late Jerry Orbach & Bebe Neuwirth. The show didn't stay on the heir that long.

By they way.. one that everyone forgot to mention, the UK also made their own Law & Order called Law & Order UK which is on it's 8th season (their seasons are shorter than ours) and is still being made. You can watch it on BBC America....on BBC America the add for it says "Like Our Law & Order, ONLY BRITISH!" LOL
