1. UGA - Only started 5 seniors this year; great backs and a stout D.
2. USC- terrific talent in the cupboard, QB is a question mark- but Sanchez should do fine.
3. OU - Young QB and backs; defense seems to be growing concern.
4. WVU - Probably returning White, Slaton and Devine -scary. Coach is the question mark.
5. LSU - Will be good with Perriloux and great young backs; have to replace some big time players (Dorsey, Hester and Doucet) -schedule is pretty rough
6. OSU - Will look to reload again and make a legitimate run for the top spot.
7. VT - Special teams and Defense are always big time for VT; QB play could be improved.
8. Texas - Young team this year, but has to figure out how to replace Sweed
9. UF - Returns awesome offensive talent. The secondary needs help... fast.
10. Wisc - Return one of the best backs in the country; QB play could be more consistent.
11. Auburn - Lose Cox but pick up Kodi Burns and a new offense; not to mention the stable of RB's and a stout D.
12. Arizona State - Could easily be lower, they lose 24 seniors, but the QB is good and their season will hinge on playmakers stepping up.
13. Michigan - Lose Henne, but have Mallet and may sign Pryor. Add Pryor and Rodriguez to the mix and they could have a great spread offense
14. Tennessee - Another team dependent on a new QB; they lose Cutcliffe as well, could drop.
15. FSU - FSU will continue to add playmakers with the upcoming recruiting class, which should help the offense.
16. Tex A&M - A wait and see for TAMU, may need a season to adjust coaches.
17. Clemson - Returning two great backs and the D should be pretty good as well.
The rest are just how I guess it will look with no run down.
18. Penn St.
19. Colorado
20. Oregon
21. Mizzou
22. Alabama
23. Illinois
24. Kansas
25. UCONN

Everyone loves to hate the BCS, but nobody seems to realize that the pre-season rankings are the stupidest thing that we could possibly have.
They are based on nothing more than last season's games and pure speculation (i.e. "guessing"). Then they influence the first 2-3 weeks of the season, because those preseason rankings are taken as "etched in stone" by many of the poll voters.
That's why there were so many "upsets" this year... because the preseason rankings were soooo far off.
At least the BCS waits until several weeks of games have been played to issue their rankings. The polls might well do the same..... make the rankings reflect ACTUAL games, not guesswork.

all i know is UGA has just about everybody coming back. they will be 1 or 2 and USC will be the other. OSU or LSU should be #1 because one of them is going to win the BCS in 08, but that's ncaa 1 a football for you. it make no sense.
coach nick, texas also has to replace charles. he's going pro.
