Can anyone help with kitchen theme design?

I have a lot of Coca-Cola kitchen ware and have always wanted to have a 1950's style kitchen. I am moving into a house where I can make this work. The cabinets are a dark wood that I am considering painting, things are edged in chrome, and the back wall of the kitchen is a shiny material that is about the color of lime sherbet. This wall is visible from the living room and I'm not sure that painting this wall is even an option since it is slick and shiny. I'd like to keep the color, but how can I tie it in with red, black and white dishes?

Maybe you can hang some like older 50's pictures onw the walls of like coke. or things like this:http://www.bustedknucklegarage.com/catalog/bkg1024...

You can also have those color dish rags of that color. The sherbert colour would be a very cool with these other colors. If you are willing to re-do the counter tops, you could put in some black granite maybe? That be cool. You could also re-do the floor to the black and white tiles. If that is out of the question, put down some cool rubs.

If you are going to put in a table, get one like they would have at the old 50's diners. Like this with some cool chairs: 50's diner table

It will be easy to incoprate your lime sherbert wall. Since that is a good color.l Just have a bit of determantion, and you can do it. (: God, I sound like a teaher, anyways, good luck! I hoped I helped a little bit.

I think the lime green is okay with the coca-cola red. Breaks up the monotony of all the red/white. Let that be your accent color. The red/white/chrome is the base colors .... and lime green can be the featured color to make the room 'pop'.

Check Craigslist.com to find 50's style furniture. I see that kind of stuff on there all the time.......for cheap!!!

With all the bright colors in the room... you may want to keep your dark cabinets.....they will add an anchoring quality to the room. BUT .....without actually 'seeing' the kitchen and the way the colors play off of each other....it is hard to say. I wish you had a picture I could view of the kitchen....

I would love to help you design this space.... sounds very fun and cool...... dont lose that in the design. Have fun with it. :o)

Glass fronts on the cabinets might look cool too. Could paint them inside the 'lime green' color and then display Coca-Cola dishes. Now THAT would look wild and cool! Especially with some rope lights around the interior of the cabinet to illuminate it.

If you don't like the idea of glass fronts on the cabinets... what about some diamond plated tin or chrome on them?

Cabinets are the biggest thing in the kitchen ...give some thought to how you do them....it will be the biggest statement you make.
