Renting a store and the roof is leaking !?

This is my first store, and it is Friday at 3 pm. It is stormy out and the roof is leaking. I called the asset management and a call service put a call to the emergency contact but no luck yet. What are my legal rights? ... and what if they dont come to fix it till monday and some of my equipment gets damaged? .... Do I have the right to call someone myself ?...... thank you

The answer to your question is in your lease. Most likely it is either suggested or required that you carry your own insurance to cover your own stuff.

All of my leases have clauses to that effect.

I've been in this position my self and it is very sticky. Carefully read your lease agreement. If you pay for repairs realize you may not be able to get the landlord to pay you without going to small claims court. Can you cover your equipment for the duration of the storm? Do you want legal expenses. All tough decisions.

You have the responsibility to minimize any damage. You could pass along the costs if they do not respond.

Depending on how bad, it might just need a bucket or something to catch the water.
