I do agree with you that there are plenty of birth control methods in the world that would virtually eliminate the need for an abortion for an unplanned, unwanted pregnancy. What truly makes me SICK is that some women will have an abortion as a method of birth control! Saying things like, "I can always get an abortion if I get pregnant." or "My boyfriend doesn't like how condoms feel." I am in my early 40's and know 2 women who have chosen to have abortions. One appears to be ok with it while the other still regrets and suffers because of her decision from over 20 years ago. I could never have an abortion, that's my choice, however, I do believe it is a personal decision and it is not against the law in this country (USA).....Teens and young people who are not prepared to become parents are still going to continue to have sex. The best way to decrease the number of abortions is sex education. Give teens the knowledge they need. It's funny how some groups of parents are against sex education AND abortion. And by the way, sex education does include talks about abstinance. Sex is a normal human need, not something to be ashamed to discuss. The correct information given to young people would not only help to possibly prevent the pregnancy, but could also help prevent them from getting a disease that could harm them. You seem very passionate in your stand on this and I do respect your opinion. Please respect mine.

It's the womens body and therefore her choice. Who are you to tell someone they should have the kid? I have a friend that was pregnant at 14 and she got an abortion. I'm glad because that baby would have been through hell. She smokes and could not be responsible as a parent in the least. Most people would not want to live with the consequences of unprotected sex. Everyone should have protected sex even if your on the pill or not because of all the stds. I think its stupid. But I also have a friend that has a kid and is 17 and is an amazing mother. It really depends on the mother. You really need to look up the court case Row vs Wayde. Abortion is a womens right and who are you to judge someone else for their decision????

The contraceptive pill- theoretically a less than 1% failure rate, in reality up to about 20% (over one year) because of confusion over procedure with missed pills, forgetting pills and interacting medication.

Condoms- roughly a 15% failure rate (over one year) due to breakages, tiny holes and incorrect usage.

And that isn't even touching on the topic of rape, inborn defects etc. Plenty of people are very careful and still end up pregnant. Hold off judging people. And what would a doctor feel like if he refused a woman a termination and she was so depressed and terrified by the prospect of a child that she jumped off a bridge? A doctor's duty is to the living, not to the theoretically living (considering 50% of conceptions end in spontaneous miscarriage).

You might be able to understand an aspect of an "unexpected pregnancy", but you can never understand what it is like to be a child of a monster who raped your mother. My conception was that of an evil act and yes, I am grateful that my mother chose to give me life and to put her life of pain and suffering aside, but I would have supported her decision is she would have chosen to get an abortion. I hope you will never have to go through the torture and pain my mother had to endure. Your entitled to your opinion however, I think its wrong for you to pass judgment, and for the record what you wrote made me sick.

I'm with you on ALL that crap..the 2 of them chose sex and thought that they were responsible enough to have it than they should be responsible enough to handle the consequences.. that's why they have adoption... unless the women's raped, than i can completely understand not being able to even carry it long enough for adoption.. but that's the ONLY time because it wasn't her choice

ultimately its your choice. whats right for you is not right for others. personally i am pro life. politically im pro choice. i have no legitimate right to condemn another for doing something legal that does not conform to my own moral standards.

I am totally with you, but I believe more in virginity, not birth control. But I would rather have someone use BC than kill a baby.

I'm sorry there sunshine but some times it's UNAVOIDABLE

What if you get raped do you want a kid of some one who RAPED you because some people are against abortions?

Unless you know what the hell your talking about don't post a stupid question.

It's her desician until you get into her shoes DON'T talk makes you sound ignorant.

Me too. It makes me sick. If you are going to have a baby, then it was God's plan. It happened for a reason.
