This is what you do . Have him still handle the mortgage with only his name as the borrower. and place your name on the title only. Take your name off of the responsibility of having to pay for it, keeping him only responsible.
This will Put his words in writing. Do not believe anything out of his mouth. Get a lawyer to help you.

Then you're the luckiest woman ever! Take the offer to own the house. But that still depends on what else is left that should be yours. Is he giving you the house but taking everything else? In that case, no. Liquidate the material assets and divide it in half if he plans to take more than what you can do without. If he is sincere, then take it and be happy. A lot of women practically end up sleeping on the streets because some husbands can be so immature.

Do not, unless the house is paid in full.
He won't be able to take his name off any morgtage, unless you can refinance it in your name.
He wants out. Don't if latter is the case.
Don't depend on him paying bills. When he meets someone else, that will be over.
Protect your rights and any support.

He can quit claim his interest in the house to you but he can't do that with the mortgage. You'll have to refinance it in your name. Go get a lawyer.
