Dell vs. HP?
Ok i have a Dell 9100 w/ 144 C drive. It has not been partitioned & a while back i lost everything ! Had to re -format the C drive.
I also an older HP with 64 or 128 memory & has an extra D drive i had installed for storage.
IS there any way to network these 2 PC;s together so when i do photos, ets.. i want to save to save them directly into the HP storage.
As it is now, I've been using a CD RW & it works Ok but is sure a pain to fool with.
I just hate to have to buy an external HD for my Dell since i already have tons of storage space in the HP but its like an old 486 ? if that sounds right, very slow
Hope i haven't confused you too bad & I really would appreciate any answer that can help me.
I lost my PC friend a couple years ago, he taught me so much & did everything for me & now i am just winging it.
I want to continue to use Dell for OS since it is fast.

Simplest solution would be to remove the extra drive from the HP and install it as a slave drive in the Dell. That would be a lot simpler than trying to network them and giving write permission over the network has security risks
Looking at all the other replies here, I gotta wonder if any of these morons actually read your question.

If your dell is faster, just use one partition for drive C then take the other harddrive from slow Hp and use as primary slave or secondary master, take note of the jumper of the harddrive when you do that. Brand doesn't matter because they could be in the same configuration.

Boy can't read either. But if the HP has USB ports use a crossover cable or save them to a USB memory stick to transfer to the HP. you can get either one at anyPC shop cheap. and use them many times.

it depends what you are looking for. i think that dell would be the best because you can customize it. try the geek squad or customer assistance.
