How can I put my hair up like this?

Question

I'm curious, and have been curious for a long time, how can I do my hair like this? (see the photo links) My hair is plenty long enough to put it up like that. And just for the record, I have no clue who the people in the pics are. I found them on Google. =P

I'm not gonna lie, I'm not good when it comes to doing hair and makeup. So any and all tips and directions are very much apperciated.

part your hair into two equal sections, then secure them in high pony tails.
you can buy clip in extensions at salons, so clip those in at the root of your ponytails.
the last picture looks like it had lace and ribbons, so tuck a few of those into your elastics, you can find good scrap ribbons at craft and fabric stores.

Alot of backcombing is number one! I would curl it with a medium size curling iron the backcomb the heck out of it and put in the big tails. Maybe use some pomade to give it a more textured look and it wont be to frizzy looking. Maybe crimp it if you don't want to use a curling iron.
