Does San Diego have the worst fan base in the NFL?

I heard they had a hard time selling out today's playoff game. Are they afraid to get rained on.

Update:

Indy is bad I will admit that last year I had no trouble getting tickets to their stadium for a playoff game. I think I actually paid below face value for those tickets also. They do play Arena ball so it is a little different game.

I am not a Chargers fan, but I was vastly disappointed with the fan base first and then the owners for firing their coach last year after going 14-2. That was the most complete asinine thing I ever heard of. Marty Schottenheimer did not deserve the boot. He was and still is a superb coach. He can turn any team into a playoff team. It is up to the players to play like winners. As the old saying goes, "you can bring a horse to water, but you can't make him drink". I guess the Charge players and fan base were not thirsty enough.

Quite honestly, most of us could find plenty of distractions in the SD area which would contribute to a shaky fan base. Real Winter makes following football playoffs a fantastic hobby. Most of us don't surf-or water sport-in December on and weather can affect outdoor plans & happy hours nationwide. Do you agree? Of course the base term "FANatic" may never be a monaker associated with SD but you can assume most of the population there wouldn't care, either. In that sense, your answer is probably a resounding 'YES' (though plenty of turncoat fans are found around the league).

I wasn't going to comment on this question. Until I saw what King Mizz said. Philly has the most passionate fans in the NFL. The fans here in Philly travel with the team to all there away games. People take there vacation to go up and watch the team during mini-camps. This year when we went to New Orleans we took over the town and the city. We have fans who travel to Dallas's minicamp just to give TO a hard time. I hate when people talk about Phily like they are the worst. There even visiting teams players who comment on who passionate the fans are in Philly.

I know that Jacksonville has a hard time selling tickets, but I think it's because we are a young team in a very small market. I also know the the Raiders have a hard time as well. They have more blackout games than anyone every year.

Out of the quality teams that are in the NFL they probably have the worst fan base, i can't wait to see them kicked out by Tennesse or by the Colts, i hate them, lol, they talk to much and don't play enough.
