Getting around Vista's problems with setting up home networks w/ Netgear routers?
I have a Netgear router, with three computers using Vista. The main desktop connects directly to the router via Ethernet, the other two computers connect wirelessly. The internet works fine, but when it comes to setting up a home network, the Vista wizard can't configure the router to set up the network. Users on other forums report this problem as well. Does anyone know how to get around it? Thanks.

The problem you are having is not in the router, it is in Vista itself
MS has crippled networking to some degree or another in the different Home versions of Vista. In a misguded attempt to create a more "secure" system, they have removed and or blocked many of the tools you need to network Vista at home.

Google "hyperlink Layer Topology Discovery (LLTD) Responder (KB922120)" and get carry of the replace from Microsoft - that would desire to repair it.
