  • How do I call something from the CSS stylesheet in Internet Explorer?

    I've defined this block in my stylesheet:

    #featured z3, z3 a, z3 a:visited {

    margin: 0px 0px 10px 0px;

    padding: 0px;

    font-family: Geneva, Arial;

    font-size: 31px;

    line-height: 35px;

    font-weight: normal;

    color: #cc0000;

    letter-spacing: -1px;

    text-decoration: none;

    }

    When I put <z3> Big Red Headline </z3> it works perfectly in Chrome and Firefox, but it doesn't work in Internet Explorer. How do I fix this?

    The HTML where I try to implement this is:

    <?php get_header(); ?>

    <div id="content" class="container">

    <div id="front" class="column_main">

    <div id="featured"> <!-- The 1st post, with the black background by default -->

    <?php query_posts('showposts=1'); ?>

    <?php while (have_posts()) : the_post(); ?>

    <h2><?php the_category(', '); ?><i> - <?php the_time('l, F j, Y G:i'); ?> </i></h2>

    <z3><a href="<?php the_permalink() ?>" title="<?php the_title(); ?>"><?php the_title(); ?></a></z3><br>

  • Going to Japan, have a few questions about cash, shopping, sightseeing?

    I'm going to Japan next week for 11 days. I'll be taking 200,000 Yen. Few questions..

    1) Is this enough for a 11 days? I'll be in a hostel in Osaka the first 4 days and hosted with a Japanese family in Tokyo the next.

    2) Can I bring Euro travellers cheques to Japan and change them at the airport? Or should I change them to Yen before going there?

    3) Where can I find reasonably priced no named clothes? And are there any other "must sees" in Osaka/Tokyo?

  • Can a client place a bug in my company and use it as evidence?

    Ok, a client put a bug in a child's bag and recorded daily convos at our daycare. Nothing incriminating since we don't do anything illegal, but she wants to say we victimize her because we discussed her late payment all the time, then kicked her out. Is it legal to bug my company like that? And can she use that as 'evidence' in a court?

  • How does one react to being put on somebody's limited profile on Facebook?!?

    So here's the deal. You suddenly realize you haven't heard anything of this guy/girl in months, and they're not someone you normally speak to everyday on Facebook so you only JUST discover that your *** is on limited, when you go on their profile and don't find a wall.

    Now we all know it's impossible to limit somebody by mistake.. and we all know the wall is the most important thing on Facebook so taking it away is like a big 'fk you!!!!', so how do you react when someone limits you?

  • Royal Mail lost my tax refund application...what can I do now?

    I sent in a form P85 together with Parts 2 and 3 of my P45 form and my original payslips to my HMRC office to claim a tax refund as I have now left the UK. Somewhere along the lines, HMRC hasn't gotten it... and I'm out 900 quid in refund still owed to me.

    I've obviously left the UK now, but is there some other way that I can go about claiming a refund? I do not want to ask my employer for another P45 (this would be the third time, and we're not that close, and they'll not send it overseas) and I'm at my wits end because Royal Mail says it's been delivered, HMRC says they haven't gotten it. and now I have no documents to claim anything since I never foresaw this happening.

    Does anyone have any advice on this?

  • How do I control access to web folder with a login function?

    I know how to do an htaccess control, but the issue is that I want to use a login form on an index page (like what you do here on yahoo before you gain access to the members area) instead of having that brutish popup that htaccess generates when you try to access the members' area. How would it be possible to do this?

  • How long will the Home Office have my F***KING passport for a Post-Study Work Visa?

    I sent in a transitional application for a Post Study Work visa. Basically, I had the International Graduate Scheme visa and you get the PSW just because you had IGS. Well I did that, and I have no clue when the Passport is coming back. They took off my 400 quid as soon as the package arrived though - they didn't lag with that sh!t, but why would it take so f**king long to stick a damn visa in my passport and send it back? I got offered a job back in my country and I'm going to piss off as soon as my passport arrives, but only CHRIST seems to know when that would be!

    I don't want to call and tell them I need it urgently because then they'd send it back happily without the f**king visa, after taking off 400 quid from my bank account for nothing!

    Any advice on how long this **** takes or what to do?

  • What is THE best external hard disk drive, preferably portable, at least 50gigs?

    I need a HD for simple storage of mp3's and personal files. As a rule I don't save these on my computer after bad experiences of crashes and such, and I like having free space on my internal HDD because if I transfer everything from my external, it slows considerably.

    I currently have a Western Digital Passport that I bought in 2006 and love. I heard they're rubbish but honestly I've had no problems with it. It's dropped quite a few times, a few more this month, and I just want to buy a new one to back up my back up drive as I'm paranoid.

    They don't make my version of the passport anymore, and I heard that the replacement they have now is DEFINITELY rubbish, so I'm asking you guys what is the best External HDD to get.

    Really important:

    - Sturdy, can fall once in a while

    - No crazy ish: crashing, failing, smoking, etc.

    - Quiet, attractive, small, not noisy, no hot operating temps.

  • Is there or isn't there jail time for overstaying a US tourist visa?

    Ok here's the situation. My cousin married this bloke who only recently admitted to being imprisoned in the US. His reason - he overstayed his visitor's visa. I always thought that was a bit suspicious and we're really thinking he's hiding something much more serious...

    My question is, is it possible to be imprisoned for a British citizen to go to jail for simply overstaying a visa?! All my research says you just get banned from ever coming to the US again. I even read about a guy who's overstayed by 15 years!

    If he is lying... does the US have a system where you can look up ex-prisoners and the crimes they committed?

  • Do you owe an ex an explanation?

    Ok here goes. I abruptly cut off contact with my ex. Blocked him from facebook, msn, email and wouldn't take his phone calls. Why? He was super-emotional, jealous, insecure, catty, young, had MAJOR unresolved issues in his past and *ding ding* screwed 26 men before me.

    I only knew all of this into our 2 month 'relationship' because the first day we met, we boned, and I didn't even know anything about him til his personality and traits started to show. I didn't even want a relationship - just got guilted into it by his manipulative emo sh!t.

    I suggested that we should go "on break", and that didnt work coz he was still getting on 'wifey', then I told him it's over, and that didn't work either... so I just cut him off without telling him anything. He calls my phone all the time and I feel guilty because I've been cut off before by other people and it hurt... but damnit I don't want to have to explain/talk to/start back letting him into my life at all now. I just see it turning into more argument, more emotional bullsh!t, more guilt tripping..yadda yadda. Is this wrong?

  • Is it worth getting health insurance in the UK?

    Ok - I'm here from the States where you absolutely have to have health insurance, but in England - there's the NHS. All well and good but it takes forever to get an appointment with my GP, and for specialist stuff - like ENT, good clean dentists and the like, it takes forever and it's damn expensive. So is it worth getting health insurance over here? And if so, which providers are best? Anybody with personal experience, or who just knows the ins-and-outs, let me know.

  • Woolwich, would you live there?

    Hi, I'm moving up from Brighton to somewhere closer to Central London, and I've seen a damn nice house in Woolwich, on Masons Hill. I've been hearing some dodgy things about Woolwich but I don't know how true they are...

    Is it really as horribe as people say in terms of crime and violence? Does it look run down and horrid?

    I'm currently out of the UK and can't check for myself at the mo. The house is apparently 2 mins. walk away from Woolwich Arsenal station.

  • Getting around Vista's problems with setting up home networks w/ Netgear routers?

    I have a Netgear router, with three computers using Vista. The main desktop connects directly to the router via Ethernet, the other two computers connect wirelessly. The internet works fine, but when it comes to setting up a home network, the Vista wizard can't configure the router to set up the network. Users on other forums report this problem as well. Does anyone know how to get around it? Thanks.
