Woolwich, would you live there?

Hi, I'm moving up from Brighton to somewhere closer to Central London, and I've seen a damn nice house in Woolwich, on Masons Hill. I've been hearing some dodgy things about Woolwich but I don't know how true they are...

Is it really as horribe as people say in terms of crime and violence? Does it look run down and horrid?

I'm currently out of the UK and can't check for myself at the mo. The house is apparently 2 mins. walk away from Woolwich Arsenal station.

Update:

To the people who said never again, how come? And is this for Woolwich or Masons Hill area?

I used to live there and it wasnt that bad. It's not Knightsbridge or Fulham but I found it better than other areas in London and it's still decently cheap. You should really see the place before you get but overall the area is not that bad.
