what do you think of Dr Phil. Helping Britny Spears? Did he do this for him or her/?

Dr. Phil is using Ms. Spears to get his name in the news.I for one think he could not help a monkey out of a wet paper sack.I am fed up with his cornball,I'm just a country boy persona.He saw what he feels is a chance to get his name in the media and boost his popularity. I for one resent his Larry the cable guy just down home Country know it all act. Ms Spears has a real problem I am fed up with her and just don't care any more. I hope this blows up in Dr. Phil's face.

Dr. Phil has a good idea on psychology. Namely it shouldn't last a life time to make a choice. People shouldn't go to a therapist and sit there forever while not getting anywhere.

You want to get help and help yourself.

However, you can't push people the way he does and expect long lasting success. He gets immediate short term success. What you want is long term change.

His Nazi style of therapy is not that helpful.

Therapy shouldn't be like this. You should be with a caring individual not a drill Sargent..

Is he going to help her? Not unless he can undo the harm her family did to her in 90 minutes or less!

Edit, I just read Victoria's answer and I don't know anything about what's going on. But NO DR. PHIL should NOT show up unannounced at the hospital. Britney needs help not to be even more humiliated by Dr. Phil!

Obviously Britney doesn't realize that people see Dr. Phil to have an Hour of fame while being humiliated.

Dr. Phil is in show business.

People who really need help go to see a real psychologist.

Dr. Phil is taking advantage of Britney's lack of real life experience so he can hopefully compete with Oprah's Success.

there is just something about doc phil that i find a lil bit sneaky... i like what he says most of the time but just sompin about him makes me feel like he is more concerned about his own best interests and profit than those of who claims to want to benefit. I also think his wife, Robin, is very insincere.

Maybe it will be a win/win situation. He gets more coverage and she gets much needed help. I'm not sure his brand of tough love will work with her, but then again I bet no one has ever talked to her like that.

Whatever Dr. Phil does it is only for his glory. Now if it helps her, it farthers his prestige. I don't think much of him, Oprah made him.

He's a jerk. He's doing it for ratings. Britney Spears needs real help. Not from a television clown. If she doesn't get help she will be dead before the year is over.

supposedly, brit's dad called him. if he had any decency, he shouldn't have gone to see her in the hospital unannounced AND without her permission. there ARE rules. oh, but not when you are a show biz personality. it is quite obvious she needs help. but NOT from him.....nope, not him.

He did it for him mostly. He is very popular and if he is helping a celebrity it would make him more popular.

His reputation is now on the line anything she does he will be responsible for.
