Any Russell Watson fans out there? And what about that Brain Tumor?

Yeah its unfortunate that "The Voice" has to deal with another tumor - he has about another three weeks of radio therapy, and probably won't be able to perform until the end of the year.

I've always liked Watson - I would call him a great pop-tinged Tenor. He kind of reminds me of Paul Potts, someone who was a blue collar worker and kind of got discovered. Yes his Nessun Dorma is pretty good, although I think his Nella Fantasia, Barcelona and O Sole Mio are his best works.

Just how good is Watson - that's a tricky thing. I would say he does a great job of presenting accessible versions of classical and other music. People have compared him to Josh Grobin or even Andrea Boccelli, but I think the best comparison is Mario Lanza - the public loved him, but the critics weren't always kind. Watson isn't really a classically trained tenor (He's not the second coming of Pavarotti), but his voice is very nicely suited for classical music. (It was no surprise for awhile that Watson was rumored to be considered to play Lanza in a movie, but that deal fell through)

Here's hoping that, God willing, Russell gets through this and goes back to releasing more terrrific music.

Russell Watson is one of the most talented singers in the World. I am so lucky to have had front row seats to one of his Australian concerts a couple of years ago. It was a highlight of my life.

My family and I are wishing for the best for him & hope he is well again soon.

Fave songs of his? Core N'grato; Nessum Dorma; Il Gladiatore; Pelagia's Song; Il Lucevan de la Stelle (I bet I've mangled the language there); Va Pensiero; and all the rest!!! His Queen stuff is fantastic. Have you heard him do "Who Wants to LIve Forever"? Barcelona is fab. Sorry I could list all of the stuff he sings :) Just wishing him well.

He has another brain tumor??!! I feel really bad for him he is SOOOOO talented..I just got his Encore CD for Christmas...It is wonderful!!! Absolutley love his voice....sounds like some of the greats like Domingo and Lanza!!!
