When did you stop watching wrestling ?

To all the former wrestling fans, why & when did you stop watching wrestling ?

And to all the current wrestling fans, what would you tell the former wrestling fans about the current state of pro-wrestling ?

Ive been a fan since the 80s, and proud of it.

And what would i say to former wrestling fans about the current state of pro-wrestling ?

I would tell them to stay off as i don't need their negative feedback or opinions. Their opinions are irrelevant since they dont watch the current product, as for the state of wrestling ? Well, its doing pretty good aslong as they stay out of it. LOL

I was 8 or 9yrs old when I got bored with seeing the same ol story lines. I remember it as if it happened yesterday: Undertaker had just arrived to WWF, it was a saturday midafternoon (foggy outside) and I believe that it was Undertaker's 1st or 2nd match in Pro Wrestling (1990 or 91). I can still recall to this day sitting and watching The Undertaker come out and thinking to myself: oh boy here we go with the same ol thing, a high ranking wrestler is going to beat the low ranking one again.

I didn't even watch the match (I decided to go outside and play,) that was the very last time I watched Wrestling up until the fall of (97) when I layed eyes upon Austin. I never seen a Wrestler with his kind of attitude & it had me hooked all over again until the spring of (98) when Steve won against Shawn at Wrestle Mania, then I stopped watching it again because I felt like Steve Austin was already too good to have the championship belt. (I felt like he was much to popular for it) then X pac took Shawn Michael's place for a while, so those two incidents took out the excitement in Pro wrestling for me. I would watch a couple of matches every now and then sparingly thru the years, but for the most part I just couldn't handle the unbearable predictions. I am strongly diggin Mr Kennedy, Randy Orton and Edge for now anyways.

Boogey Man has really caught my eye & attention but I'm not diggin him on ECW or Fridaynight smackdown, I'd rather see him on WWE with the highest Ranking Pro Wrestlers.

(for now I don't dig TNA, ECW or Smackdown at all)

I was a big fan (mainly NWA/WCW) and when Eric Bishoff brought in the NWO and basically made them the only group in the WCW. I didn't mind that the events was staged, but there was so much that could have been done to make the storyline more believable. I just lost interest. I will watch a nitro ever now and again. But I will only watch it on tape or a download because I can watch the whole show in about 20 mins. Thats only watching the exciting parts.

I would tell former fans to start back watching it isn't that bad. There has always been ups and downs in wrestling. I would also tell them to give TNA just one chance. So what if they got former stars from other promotions. That is why you watch, to find somebody you know. If I had never saw Sting on TNA, I would have never started watching it. That is what I will tell them. I also would show them some highlight vids from youtube.

  • I'm still a fan, but I don't watch it as much as I used to. I kind of stop watching after The Rock left. It's just been boring with out him. I guess Cena filled in for him after he left. Wrestling has lost its adittude. But I am still a loyal fan.

current state of wrestling in one word Sucks! Story lines in the past few years in wwe and tna are pointless and boring to watch especially when they drag out a story line! I'm on the verge of not watching it anymore!

I stopped watching it when my mom kicked my father out of the house...I only watched it before that because we had to. I've never been a fan of pro wrestling...has too much of fake to it which is why I could never stand the power rangers either..lol.

"It's not as good as it used to be. If were you, don't watch it anymore. If you watch 1 episode of Raw, you would surely criticize it and say that is was either dumb or ****. Nowadays, WWE only cares about entertaining the kids. That's why they force people like Hornswoggle into our poor throats to try to "entertain" us. I don't blame the joke characters like Hornswoggle, but I blame Vince himself. He lets the writers do the shitty things they do. He doesn't stop it. He just lets them do whatever they want. That is the main reason why some former fans stopped wrestling "

I stopped watching it after WWE acquired WCW and ECW and completely mismanaged all the talent. They could have had the promotion to end all promotions, but they keep talentless hacks like Viscera and Val Venis and end up losing quality wrestlers from other promotions because Vince can't put his ego aside and do what is best for his company.
