If Hillary wins the Democratic nomination, how likely do you think she is to pick Bill Clinton to be her V.P.?

I don't believe there's any rule against selecting an ex-president to run for V.P.

That would take serious nerve.

Update:

Allright, but you must know that he's going to be her primary "advisor" behind closed doors. Which is another reason for Dems not to vote for Hillary Clinton.

Thank you!

Update 2:

I think that Hillary honestly would make Bill the VP. Remember they are both lawyers afterall, and Bill was a crafty manipulator when he was in office. Hillary is just as sneaky as her husband is.

i think you all are wrong on this - i think she can pick him - and bill could legally become president if hillary died

    edit

the 22nd amendment only states that a president can be ELECTED no more than 2 times - bill clinton could be VP and could legally become president if hillary died and finish the rest of that term.

Well, look at it this, way, it is impossible because it is against the law...as he has already served his term of 8 years. So, that's out of the question.

He will probably advise her, though, I don't how much, because he really didn't have much to do or say during his last administration...it was a chaos in the making!

I don't know who she will pick, she is basically a selfish, self satisfying, dishonest person, so she'd have to pick someone like herself....maybe her daughter Chelsea will become her.

A vice chairman could desire to be waiting to alter into president, as a result a former president can't be vice chairman. additionally in case you have listened to Hillary, you will see that she would be in a position to no longer be taking any advice from invoice and could quite pass out of her thank you to make this her presidency. people who're thunking of balloting for her simply by fact invoice replaced right into a good president would be in for a extensive marvel.

Personally, I think she should make Monica the VP. At least she knows how to keep Hillary's man happy and we all know where she stands...

Besides, Hillary is for Duff. DOH!

Bill Clinton would be ineligible to succeed her (22nd Amendment, 25th Amendment & the Presidential Succession Act). Seeing as how the primary duty of the Vice President is to succeed the President in the event of death, incapacitation, Bill Clinton couldn't fulfill the primary duties of the post.

In other words, the chances are absolutely zero.

He could serve as Speaker of the House or Secretary of State, or some other office within the line of Presidential Succession. Those all have primary duties unrelated to becoming President. If they are ineligible to become President and their spot in the line of succession comes up, their spot is just skipped.

For instance, Charles Conner (Sec of Agrigulture), Carlos Gutierrez (Sec of Commerce), and Elaine Chao (Sec of Labor) are all ineligible to become President. That doesn't prevent them from performing their primary duty and they would all just be skipped if their spot came up. (Gutierrez and Chao aren't natural citizens and Conner is acting-Secretary and has never been confirmed by Senate).

It would be really gutsy. I for one think it would work, but I am considered to have some radical thoughts about politics and government. I mean, he is qualified. And what other democrat would be as strong a contender? If for no other reason, I would like to see how the media and the people react.

0% chance of her picking Bill for V.P. but 100% chance of Bill doing far more than the actual V.P. However, I hope beyond all hope that we don't have to worry about this situation at all.

Yes there is. The Constitution only alllows a person two terms as President. Bill Clinton has already served two terms--so he can't fufill the primary obligation of a VP--as the next in the person to take over if something happens to the President.

didn't you take civics in high school?

She cannot do it. It is forbidden because the VP could become President upon resignation or death of the President. And, we all know that Bill Clinton has served his limit of two disgraceful terms.

She can't, he was president for 2 terms and therefore unable to be president or be in line for the presidency if something were to happen to the president.
