How do I do a system restore to clear everything on my computer?

System Restore will only restore a few system files to an earlier date that you choose. It will NOT erase your data, documents, information, etc.

You will need to reformat and re-install your Windows. Just insert your Windows install CD and follow the prompts. To get the computer back to a useable condition, you will also need to re-install all your drivers too. So insert your driver CD (sometimes called Motherboard CD) and re-install them too.

Voila! Your information will be gone and your buyer will have a computer that runs like new. (So add a few bux to the price!)

you can go to system restore but it wont wipe EVERYTHING off your computer. That basically just gets your computer working back to normal if something happened to your computer. If you have your windows or whatever OS you have..best bet is too restore your whole operating system from scratch. If you insert the disk it should take you step by step on how to install.

There is a cd that came with your computer that you put into your cd drive, then restart your computer. As it is restarting then you will see a message on the screen follow the instructions , this screen will be quick.... pay attention .. it will guide you the rest of the way.
