What criteria does Yahoo Answers have for giving a "Top Contributor award?"?

You can receive a TC badge by answering a LOT of questions in a single category, and having a Best Answer rating of over 10%. Whether or not you ask questions doesn't have anything to do with it.

Every few weeks YA gives out a bunch of TC's ... and also takes a bunch away. You earned yours by being especially active in one section, and will keep it as long as you remain active in that category. If you answer several questions in that category every day, or a lot every few days, you'll keep it.

But ... if you take a week or so off from answering ... you'll lose your TC. I had one in another category for awhile, but lost interest in answering in that category. A few weeks later, YA took my TC badge away. To be honest, I don't miss it!

Some say that you have to answer 50 questions in a 30 day period, and should have at least 10% best answer in that category.

they say it has something to do with the proportion of your BAs that are in any single classification, so those with BA in lots of diverse categories heavily isn't a right Contributor. Yahoo is rewarding narrow-mindedness with something that human beings evaluate a badge of honor. circulate determine. in my view, i'm greater inspired with somebody who has a BA ratio of 33% or greater suitable than some point a million noobie having 2 out of three in video games with a stupid badge next to their call.
