  • If hating a race makes you racist, what's it called when you hate a country?

I've come across so many people who will say "stupid Americans," or similar derogatory statements about those who live in the United States, but since we are such a mix of races and cultures, referring to such a person as racist would be inappropriate. What is the correct word for someone with that particular type of bias?

  • Is there a legal service available to help me move?

My neighbor left my apartment complex some months ago, and told me that even though the management company said there would be no charges against her, a couple months after they claimed that she left holes in the wall and are demanding compensation.

Now I plan on moving here in a few months and don't want the same thing to happen to me. I have no friends to help me witness my move, so I am in need of a service wherein I can have physical proof that no damage was done to my apartment. I'm not as much concerned about litigation as much as the detrimental effect to my credit report, as I will be moving to a different apartment when I leave this one, and will most likely continue living in apartments for the next several years.

Does such a service exist? If so, what is it called? If not, how can I protect myself? I'm on bad terms with my landlord where said person dislikes me personally, and wish to avoid that person as much as I'm able to. Taking pictures won't help me, as you don't go to court over a bad credit rating. As such I need to stop the bad report from happening prior to my leaving.

  • Hey, how's this for a new take on God?

I was just listening to a clip of Opie and Anthony, and had an epiphany regarding God: I think He is a radio personality for a bunch of unknown cosmic entities, and that he pulls all sorts of pranks and practical jokes on all of us in order to make those entities laugh.

Stuff like, "Ok, now I've got this guy convinced that if he blows himself up he's going to get 72 virgins. I can't believe this moron fell for it! ...Oh boy...he's actually strapping that bomb to his body. This idiot knows he's going to be blown to bits and he's doing it anyways! ...Oh, there he goes.... *BOOM!* AH HAHAHAHAH! What an idiot! HAHAHA.... *etc.*

So what does everyone think? Plausible? Could we be the butt of some inter-stellar radio talk show? In my eyes, it's the best way I can think of to explain why our world is so messed up....

Atheists need not respond, even though I'm sure you all will anyways....

  • Chart data labels only displaying every other line in Excel 2007?

I'm working on a report, and when I use the chart to display the data graphically, the labels for each piece of data is only showing every other one. Example: Data1, <blank> Data3, <blank>, etc.

How can I get these to all display? I've already tried adjusting the font, making it extremely small, and it still gives the same result.

    Thanks all.

  • How do I install the Windows 7 Beta Language Interface Packs?

I have a friend who's trying to install the Japanese language format into the IME bar in Windows 7, but the language isn't included natively, so she downloaded and burned an .iso for the Language interface packs. The instructions state to go to Control Panel, and click on "Install additional languages" under the "Clock, Language, and Region" applet. The problem is that this option does not exist on her computer (or mine either, for that matter.) Is there a workaround so it can be installed appropriately? Or perhaps it can be manually installed?

Everyone's help is well appreciated. Thanks! :)

  • Wouldn't you agree that...?

Our gasoline prices today proves that the pricing before was artificially inflated?

We're currently paying less than half of what we were paying just a few months ago. I understand the fact that our current cost per gallon is due to our economic crisis, but even when taking this into account the cost shouldn't have dropped quite as low as it has unless the oil companies are taking unfair advantage of the general public during normal circumstances.

When will we, as a people, be able to say no and actually start insisting on alternative fuel vehicles instead of remaining dependent upon fuel source owners who will continue to gouge us indefinitely?

  • What recourse do I have with an obstinate attorney?

Here's the situation: I was in an auto accident about 5 years ago with the other vehicle being a company vehicle covered under an S-Corp. My attorney is saying that if I sue, the company will file bankruptcy, causing me to have nothing to collect. The vehicles are in the owner's personal name, not the name of the company, which makes him liable. I've already checked into this.

My attorney does not want to pursue this matter any further, due to him believing I am unable to collect, but after some independent research, I have come to the conclusion that I can -- research that includes hypothetical scenario discussions with other attorneys. My problem is that other attorneys say they cannot even discuss the specific situation with me, much less take it over, due to the fact that I am under contract with this attorney. What's more, I've heard that once I've been on a case as long as I have, a judge won't let my attorney drop me. Is this true? If not, what can I do?

One more thing: It appears that my attorney isn't doing all he can for me. Who do I contact to hold him accountable. (i.e. Doctors have malpractice insurance, what do Lawyers have?)

  • Does anyone remember a couple of people known as the Dastardly Duo?

An old memory popped up earlier today and I'm trying to remember where this name came from. I looked it up on Google, but got garbage, but I know there were a couple with that nickname. It could be villains from a cartoon or TV show, might be a comic book villain, or something else entirely. I just can't remember the details. Thanks for the help.

  • Are marriages outside of the US even recognized for tax purposes?

I've been thinking about this for a while now, and I'm trying to figure out: A couple who lived in another country and married in that country come over to the US. One is a permanent resident, the other is here illegally. My thought on this is, if they are recognized as a married couple, the wife should be able to get a permanent residence simply by being his wife, and therefore get a valid Social Security card. Since she's unable to do this, I don't believe their marriage is recognized here.

Can anyone enlighten me on this? Can you point me to the area in the tax code that states that they are either married or not married for tax purposes? I've been going through the pub 17, to no avail....

  • What criteria does Yahoo Answers have for giving a "Top Contributor award?"?

I just received one and it made me curious as to if it's questions asked, best answers, or some combination thereof, and didn't see any description page anywhere on this site....

  • Why do I even keep going?

I'm completely alone, and afraid of being hurt yet again, so am unable to meet people to change this. I have been physically and psychologically abused and tormented from the age of 6 until my divorce two years ago. I hurt all the time now. The pain gets worse every day.

No one sees this side of me in my life. I've become a very good actor. At work I frequently receive compliments, saying how my voice is so soothing, and just how friendly I am with everyone! This pain I feel is causing this false face to slip more and more though, and I fear losing my job.

The few people I've ever been able to talk to about my problems always tell me to "deal with it" or to "get over it." This isn't something I can just get over, and I'm so tired of having to deal with it. I'm so tired...

One more thing: I have no money, so seeing a psychologist is out of the question.

  • To all Kirarin Revolution fans: Does anyone know if there is a live action version of this series?

Of if not yet, are there any plans in the works for one to be released? I know so little about this series beyond what anime has been translated into English.

Also, how would you feel about seeing a live version? Would you like it? Or do you think it'd be better to be kept in its manga/anime forms?
