How do I even get motivated for this season?
Now that my A's have dealt all of their good pitchers and their best hitter. How do I even get a little excited about this season. They throw out the cliche "rebuilding". All that means is don't bother cheering for more than about 60-75 wins.

Nick Swisher was not their best hitter, and if Rich Harden is 100% he could be close to the caliber of Dan Haren.
Hope that Bobby Crosby can be a factor in this season. Hope that Huston Street will be healthy, hope that the M's decide to trade Richie Sexson and you may have hope.
If you were a real fan of the A's, you'd support them through their dificult times, and be there for them. Go to the games, have fun, and don't care whether they win or loose. Just have fun.

What you have to look forward to is another group of highly talented youngsters. This is just another cycle in "As the Athletics Turn". The A's still have good pitchers, they will not have Haren to take a dump in the second half like he has every year, they will not have Nick Swisher to hit .265 but they may end up with better players in the mean time, you have to be patient with the A's. Billy has done this several times now and has been pretty good at it! Keep your head up and think about the positives, you just got the three best prospects that the White Sox had for an avberage player with fan appeal.

A true fan needs no motivation beside the fact that spring training is less than 50 days away. A true fan always looks for the bright spots. Even if the team will wind up sucking dirty pond water.

With the A's you never know, when they traded Hudson and Mulder that one year were you excited for the upcoming season, they are a miracle team. Besides, in 5 years the A's will be the bomb!

Well, you gotta just support your team through the good and bad. I'm a Mets fan, I've seen it all. Just remember, even if the team you love is great, or awful, its still baseball, the greatest game on earth.
