my ps3 day ip adress found but internet connection failed its a dns error what does this mean?

    you have to open up ports...

    When I first got my PS2 online I had the same problem. Even though it was a wired connection, it wouldn't work! Yes, the answer is to enter your routers IP address. This can be done by searching for your routers make and model and entering 'IP address' after it. This may not be necessary though. Loads of my friends have tried wireless internet with their PS3 and virtually none of them have been able to get a good connection. Most people who use wireless have a dodgy, on-off connection that is unreliable and full of lag! My advice, stick to wired. Just plug the wire in and your online. You dont need to enter a thing.
