It was called What Britain Earns, presented by Peter and Dan Snow. If you live in the UK you can watch it again by clicking on this link.

Psychologically, I think the speech was playing to the choir. the whole style was "trust me" -- and us older Americans had a belly full of that sort of thing from Bill Clinton [who pretty plainly was a liar]. Now, as to strategy -- no idea. If Mr. Obama is trying to rally the left wing troops to cram public option down the throats of the opposition, maybe he did what he wanted. What did he give up? abortion funding, forced participation in abortions, routine care for illegal aliens, and tort reform. Maybe he gave these up -- the devil will be in the details. Other than tort reform, does the proposed program make significant dents in the underlying cost of medical care? NO. Rooting fraud out of Medicare has been politicized over and over -- and it still was an estimated $60 billion last year. I don't think a lot will change -- the crooks adapt faster than the government bureaucrats can catch up. That's somewhat larger than the entire profits of the health insurance industry in the same year. And, of course, there's still the estimated $4,000 a year cost increase per family that has health insurance now, PLUS the higher taxes to fund the coverage for the uninsured [30 million to be covered times $8,000 a year in cost equals $240 billion a year that has to be found somewhere]. I think the effort was leftist politics as usual and I'm not buying it.

The earlier details are right. I enjoyed it, but would not watch it again. Dan tried his hand at several jobs, and he and Peter revealed their own salaries at the end. We saw the plumber who earns £100,000 p.a., and heard about the massive earners as well as the minimun wage workers.

I didn't see it but saw the advert. It was BBC2 at 21.00 and was presented by Dan and John Snow. You should be able to find details on the BBC website.
