2008 Elections?

Just wondering why the Democrat candidates running for 2008 presidency would skip Michigan (and I forgot what the other state was).. Wouldnt they want as many delegate votes they can get under their pockets? Or is it because Michigan only nominates a Republican candidate? Are there any other states that votes exclusively Republican or exclusively Democratic? Total curious...

From what i can gather they tried to push up the DNC voting and the DNC considers Michigans vote on the democratic side illegitimates.

"Michigan's governor signed a bill moving the primary to Jan. 15, prompting a series of political and legal maneuvers that ended with a ruling by the state Supreme Court that the primary was legal. The early date violates Democratic National Committee rules, and thus the DNC considers the Michigan primary illegitimate."

Some states were penalized for moving their primary dates up. Thus the national convention stripped them of their delagates. This may be reason they are "skipping" those states.
