How are STD transmitted?

Is it by body fluid (e.g, semen) or by sexual intercourse (e.g, gential touching against each other)?

If it is by body fluid, how does the body fluid cause STD? like, does the virus penetrate into the mucus layer and get into the bloodstream?

You are on the right track. Most STDs are transmitted through the bodily fluids but not all the time necessarily through intercourse. For instance, herpes can be transmitted through contact and since it is sometimes found in or around the mouth (and other parts of the body), it can be transmitted just through contact of the infected site. Skin is resilient and can protect us from most STDs but not all, like HPV (warts). Your best bet against STD is abstinence until marriage or protecting yourself with a condom (not too sure that is such a safe bet though).
