My Wedding Gown!?

Ok, so i am getting married and want to go looking for a wedding gown. I am looking for an expert or someone who knows a lot about fashion.I need to know what style and all that goes with my body type. I am 6 feet tall, so i dont think that poofy is the best way to go? but im not sure. I do know that i want it to go all the way to the floor, and i want a train. Also dont want a strapless as i wasnt very blessed up there! :) could someone tell me the perfect style for my body type. I am skinny, average weight for a female my height. And if i have a train, can i still have a veil? or is that too much? pics would be great with your description. I just want this to be perfect. Thank you!!

Here are some different styles that I think would suit your shape, and I think they are just gorgeous.

Veils are great, but be careful not to get one thats too long because you may accidentalyy sit on it during your wedding and pull your hair. Avoid a veil with a heavy ribbon trim as they become heavy and hurt your head after a while.

If you want a train make sure it is easy to pin up to the back of the dress to alow for easy movement while you walk around and so it doesnt tear the dress or dirty it.

some handy hints for choosing a dress are to ALWAYS have your bra, panties and shoes chosen when you select your dress.... you need to know that the undergarments and shoes will work well with the measurements of the dress (too tall shoes could mean your dress is too short, or a padded bra means your dress wont fit your bust area.)

Personnally I like the mermaid style gowns. Alot of dresses now seem to be strapless so the open front, long sleeve short jacket that is in the picture with the dress should take care of your not blessed up there figure (don't worry I'm not either). If you could find a corset it shows off an hourglass figure without having much up there. I would reccomend a veil that reaches the ground but doesn't go byond the trail of the dress.

Good luck with your choices and remember that above all it is a day for you to have fun not stress out over.

The really best way to get a wedding gown is to go try them on in different stores. You can look up on the Internet to find styles you think you like....but you may think a frilly one will look good, and it will end up to be totally different.

It is very fun to try them on....just give them a general price range....and start trying different styles. What usually happens is you will find one, or two, or three that you really like. Take your time...go back to each store...they will hold it for you and keep your name on file...and try them several times...until you get set on one you just know looks the best and that you really like. Have your Mom with you if you can....or someone else to give you an opinion on what looks the best.....

And realize...they can change things...like the sleeve, or the neckline, and try different veils so you can see what type you like the best.

Some dresses go better with certain settings....like a very casual wedding, you might not want the dress too formal....or you may want the train so it can be taken off..or buttoned up...etc.

Don't miss the fun of going with you Mom (first choice)...it is a great experience to look for the dress. If she can't...then have a couple of bridesmaids, or your best friend...but don't leave out Mom...because most Moms look forward to that day!

And your question about a train, veil...is totally up to you. Don't let anyone tell you what you can or can't have. You also can have someone make a veil...and save a lot of money.

Look also through bridal magazines for ideas and see what you like the most.....you can copy the idea...add the look, etc.

And being skinny helps....but find what flatters you and looks the very best....I have several daughters...they all chose differently and one chose to wear my own dress I had stored away. Finding them was very fun! And allow plenty of time....usually it takes about 3 to four months...and you need to add extra so if anything goes wrong, you have time to fix it.

Sometimes when you choose the dress, they will let you take a photo so you can put it together with other things....

And when you get the dress, try to time it so you don't have it hanging around too long...a few days before the wedding....because they will press it and have it ready...but you have to keep it that way.

Lucky you, tall and skinny, just what every girl wants! My suggestion is that you go and try on loads and loads of dresses, you will soon see what sort of thing suits you, it's almost impossible to advise you when I can't see you, but as you are tall I think you could carry off most styles really, just try them all on and see what you feel happy in. If I were you I'd go for a sleek, sheath style dress, elegant and fitted. And yes of course you can have a veil if you have a train, go the whole hog!

try alfredangelo.com, verawang.com, rinadimontella.com, moncheribridals.com...Then go to bridal shops and start trying on gowns..that is the only way you will find the gown that suits you best. As far as the bustline, there are bust enhancements that could give you a fuller look at the bustline. I agree that you should not get a poufy overdone gown, something simple with modern lines...You can have a veil..that you can choose when you pick your gown...For someone like yourself...go to a nice bridal shop.

since you're skinny, you have the ability to wear a form-fitting dress. you're right about poofy, b/c of your height. you should do something like this:

and you definitely can work a veil! just make sure it's not super incredibly long, otherwise it'll look crazy. if you do a really long train, it might make you look a lot taller than you are...if you're cool with that, then do it up!

If you are tall and thin I think a-line will be your best bet, but you could probably pull off any style. A veil is not too much with a train either, nearly all brides have both. Here are so pretty dresses, don't worry about being blessed or not, they can sew the "blessing" into your dress.

How dresses look in a picture, and how they look on you are going to be completely different. I would go to a bridal shop and try on different styles, and bring along someone who will give you honest opinions, and bring a digital camera, so you can look at pictures of yourself at home on your pc to get a better idea of what looks best on you. Good luck and happy hunting!

are you wanting to downplay your heighth or play it up.

you can go kinda poofy, having a dress straight up and down will make you look taller. i recommend a-line really. you can have a train and a veil, however i would stick with a med length veil and train.

it seems like they only make strapless sometimes, i wouldn't wear strapless either, but i have the opposite problem you have.

i sew a lot. while i need to lose a few pounds, i am also very tall at nearly 5'11". i have found a-line to downplay my heighth. also if you are wanting to present yourself as slightly more curvy, a-line will help some.

I think that you should just go into the store and try on different styles and see wut you think you look best in.. and Im sure the people working the store will give you their opinions as well. Its their job!
