It was Kelly Tilghman, an anchor on the Golf channel. She said that the only way Tiger's opponents could beat him would be to "lynch him in a back alley."

They suspended her for two weeks, even though even Tiger said that he didn't think she was implying anything racial. It was a dumb thing to say, but I personally think it's an overreaction.

She did not say that out of nowhere though. Her co-commentator said something along the lines of the only way the competition could beat Tiger would be to all gang up and beat him up. Then she said what she did. It doesn't make it any better at all, but at least it wasn't just her saying that for no reason.

Craig S is right. And its only a big deal because Al Sharpton made it so. Not one other person thought it worthy of mention.

I agree with Craig. It was one of those "open mouth, insert foot" things. Tiger said that he knows her personally and doesn't think that she meant anything by it, then that's good enough for me. It was taken out of proportion.

That thick-lipped Sharpton should keep his big black watermelon hole closed.
