Dash lights dont work?
1985 Chevrolet Pickup
Dash lights dont work except by heater control. Fuel guage works inconsistantly. Brite lite ind. comes on with ;ow beam and of with hi beam. turn signal ind are on. All exterior lites work correctly. When I use turn signals, the ones on the dash get dimmer them brite again. Fuses are all good. Truck was sitting 4 two years, but we have corrected all mechanical problems and runs fine.

You probably have a bad ground for the dash. This can be incorporated in the wiring harness, and sometimes there is an extra ground wire on the back of the instrument panel. Another rather common occurrence on the General Motors trucks is the printed circuit on the back of the instrument cluster goes bad. Any of the above can cause your problem. But double check your fuses. If it is just the dash lights, you may have a blown fuse.
