Will many Obama supporters possibly vote for Obama because....... ?

Will many Obama supporters possibly vote for Obama simply because he would be the first Black President rather than voting for Obama because they feel he would make the Best President ?

Update:

Many people complain if you ask too many questions within the same question; but since so many brought it up---- Will many Hillary supporters vote for her simply because she would be the First Woman President ?

Sir, many blacks will vote for a black candidate merely because he is black, and many voters will vote for Hellary because she is a woman. Same, same, and you know it, as well as I. I am a woman, but I'd rather DIE than vote for a Socialist! I work too hard to feed my family and don't want my money that I earned going to those that don't!

I completely agree with you Brandon, Ive noticed this too, but we cant just sit it out expecting a simple outcome, no one can predict the future, one thing you didn't mention is that some of us Obama supporters are actually die hard supporters and try our best to get not only us as Democrats to vote but Republicans and Undecided voters as well. Im from TX a strong Republican based state and polls for Democrats have been low but that doesn't disappoint me one bit, what I actually have noticed that in the past few weeks polls in TX regarding Democrats have actually gained some points which proves that people out there aren't backing down and actually will make their vote count on Nov 4th.

Well, people will vote for whatever reason they find justifiable. Obviously, to any sensible person, mere demographics is a very bad method. But stupidity is allowed by the constitution. Ultimately, the American people end up with the kind of leadership they deserve. We'd have better presidents if people had to score higher than 90 on an IQ test to vote. People on public assistance shouldn't be allowed to vote, either. Our quality of president would go way, way upwards. Obviously, that would kill liberalism.

I think more people will vote for Hillary just because she will be the first woman President rather than voting for her because the feel she would be the best President. I also think a large number of people will not vote for Obama just because he is black. Its a sad world we live in.

  • They vote for him because he is black.

As far as Hillary, not sure. But this I believe; if Obama's cult following continues to grow in number, many people will vote for Hillary in the primaries just to keep Obama out. (The man is the biggest threat to the office of president and American security to date).

I think some people will vote for him simply because of the color of his skin. i think some will vote for Hillary because she is a woman. Some will vote for Romney because he is a Mormon. Etc., etc. the opposite will be true, too. Some will not vote for Obama because of the color of his skin (probably a much higher number than will vote for him for the same reason).

My answer does not change no matter what name you plug in and what trait you attribute to them. Whether it is JFK's looks or Hillary's gender, the song remains the same and has been going on for decades. Why this is NOW an issue with the emergence of an African-American and a woman, I don't know. I fail to see a difference between voting for Obama because of his color and voting for Reagan because you enjoyed one of his movies. To deny this has been going on for a long time is more than a little naive. To focus so much on it NOW raises other questions.

The bottom line, of course, is that you should vote according to substance and policy. Some do, some don't. We can't mandate it.

He is very charismatic and young, and many people don't care what color he is. He is basing his change on cleaning out the issues that bother Americans in the way our government seems to operate. He will not be able to do this because it is Congress who has to make these changes, not him.

More transparency would be a good thing in our government. If fact, we used to have much more transparency before the Bush administration, but showing what the pork spending was for and who was behind it will only show the states that their representative was working in their behalf. The representatives are voted in by their states, not the whole country.

Other than his basis for more transparency, which I understand is partially already in force, I don't see that he has any other issues that separate him from the other candidates who have a much longer track record. I am interested in what the candidate's track record is and he hasn't been around long enough on the national scene to prove his case to me. He has too many wierd things in his background to be able to trust him on his word alone at this time in our history.

That will be a part of the case but it alsogoes the same for hillary she will receive the majority of the womens votes... it is kind of scary because people are basing their decision on externals rather than policy.

I think people will vote for him just to say they helped elect the first black president. I also think their are others who will vote for him because they don't like Hilary, Edwards, or anyone else.

Probably for Obama being black and Hillary being female.

    Neither will get my vote.
