How do the Amish preserve their folk culture against the pressures of popular culture?

Please dont just say isolation, but I need more to build on that

    By separating themselves from popular culture. By instilling, within their children, the idea that all other ways of life are steeped in Sin.

    I'm not against inter-racial dating at all. You can't help who you fall in love with. And over time cultures change anyway. What is the norm of a culture now may have been completely different hundreds of years ago.

    they have do not need isolation -- their teaching and the respect for each other and keeps them going!!!
