What is the best video editing software for PC?

I have a Sony Vaio fairly new PC that will probably be able to run any program, and I have a Sony DV camera. I don't need anything too high end, I don't want to pay a whole lot, maybe like $100 or so. I usually use Windows Movie Maker, and I would like something a little more in depth than that. Any links to free demos would be nice. Thanks

Check out "Pinnacle Studio 11 MovieBox Ultimate." The link below will take you to Videoguys.com's "Best of 2007" list of products. It's the most reputable and price competitive site that I know of for video editing software and hardware products.

Adobe Premiere Pro offers a free 30 day trial. The software sells for 800 dollars, but less than half that if you can show you're a student.

Here's a link to the free trial software (identical to the full software, except it expires in 30 days)
