Why does my IE7 home page revert back to msn.com?

I want to have my home page set to Yahoo, but everytime I restart IE7, I get to msn. In Internet options, home page is set to "http://www.microsoft.com/isapi/redir.dll?prd=ie&pv... No matter how many time I change this field to www.yahoo.com, it reverts back.

Update:

There's no internet security program installed, and I know what buttons to press in Windows.

    1. Are you clicking OK? You may be clicking cancel.

    2. If you are at work and under a domain network, does the domain's group policy support changing your home page?

try going to yahoo.... then if you look in the address bar, to the left of the address you see the little icon? click and drag that icon, drop it on the "home" icon (the pic of the little house) that's another way to set the homepage... if that doesn't work its probably a corrupted browser.... Uninstall IE7 (add/remove programs, windows internet explorer 7, remove, next, ok, reboot the comptuer) You will now be rolled back to IE6, go to www.microsoft.com and reinstall IE7, and it should be fine...Also while in add/remove programs, double check for security software, norton is renowned for hiding one the computer and causing issues like this... look for anything Norton, Symantec, Live Update or Live Reg... remove it if its there... also check for Mcafee, Avast, and any other security software that might be on there.... they're sneaky little devils.... If the reinstall doesn't work.... run an online av scan try housecall.trendmicro.com... make sure theres no bugs causing the issue.... The Internet explorer reinstall however should fix the issue if there's not security software conflicts....

IE 7 is still kind of buggy. Did you type in the address for the homepage you want, click apply, then close and reopen your browser? If that doesn't work, uninstall IE7 from add/remove programs in control panel.... It will roll back to IE6 or whatever version you had installed before.

It sounds like you have a security program on your system that is guarding IE home page changes. What security programs are you running on your system?

If its norton internet security, then you will need to uncheck the Home Page Protection feature of NIS .

I believe you have recently installed IE7 and have not yet configured it. When you click IE7 icon it opens a page from which you need to configure its settings according to your requiremnets of use. Hope this will work.enjoy:-)

Are you just hitting the "X" button when you change it? That wont do any good unless you hit OK when making changes. That always works for me.

gO TO TOOLS, Internet Options and where it says HOME PAGE, type the page you want.

You will have to run SPYBOT or AD-AWARE PERSONAL if that doesn't work, cause it's a virus.
