audition help?
i sing AND dance, and i'm going to be auditioning for something, and i want to know what a good way is to showcase BOTH of these talents in the one audition...if there even IS a good way. i'm open to all serious suggestions :)
thanks!
i know that's how a regular audition works but this one is different, they encourage our creativity and i'm just trying to think of a way to mix them both.

For most shows with dancing, there is a choreographer who does the dance auditions. He may not even be there for the spoken auditions, so I wouldn't try to squeeze any dance into the basic audition.

Do NOT sing Annie. Please. Unless you can doing something absolutely and unfathomably spectacular with it, do not sing Annie.
If you're director wants you to be creative and show off everything you have acting, singing, and dancing, then maybe try "The Music and the Mirror" from A Chorus Line. That has a solo dance break in it, so not only would it fit the character to break out into dance, but it would showcase you.
Good luck!

Doesn't say if its a musical audition, but you could sing something like
"Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile" from Annie
"Let Yourself Go" from ??
"When I Get My Name in Lights" from Boy from Oz (one of my personal favorites
"Born to Entertain" don't remember what show its on a cd called Broadway Kids Sing Broadway
sing and dance!! especially if you are going out for a dancing/singing part
best of luck
