should i get a laptop ($400) or a sidekick lx ($400) really not sure what to get?

Things like sidekicks are just fun little gadgets while laptops are real work machines. If you just want a portable communication device then I guess go with the sidekick but be aware little things like these do grow old after a while, while a computer is really a tool and even when outdated can prove to be very useful. Now I am guessing you don't want me to get too technical but if you go for the laptop, ask on here again for some techies and most of them will help you (others will try to get you to buy $1000 of stuff you don't need because they are used to spending that much on their own stuff).
