can you install Office 2003 (mostly word and excel) on Window Vista without any problems?

I'm buying a new computer for my dad and he don't like the new word and excel 2007 and wants to keep his good old word and excel 2003. Is Vista and Office 2003 compatible?

Thank you

YES. MS has patches to help with the ease of transitioning.

Basically...VISTA is an operating system, where as OFFICE is just a piece of additional software.
