HELP! ASAP!...I need to know how to bid a commercial job!?

I recently started working for a small housecleaning company (approx. 6 months ago). Business is booming, however my boss decided to expand our "horizons". Well today we have to submit our bid for our first commercial office. It's approx. 12,000 sq. ft. w/ some special details ie; three levels, large tile entry-way, glass topped desks (3 to be exact). Other than that it's just your standard cleaning. I have been in this industry for over ten years...but only as a "worker bee", and my boss is a bit overwhelmed. IMO she didn't anticipate the immediate response we recieved the first day our new ad came out. My "THANK-YOU's" in advance for any and all that reply! OXXO Moonshine

    Metallica,

To be honest, I think your boss, as a business owner, should have designed a "charge scale" before opening her business, much less placing an ad for commercial services.

However, it is done and she needs help. First, she neeeds to consider how many workers will be on that job. She should also take into consideration if this job will be on a daily, weekly, monthly basis.

When I owned and operated my cleaning service, I would give a slight discount if it was going to be a recurring job on a regular basis.

As far as an exact price, there is no way for any of us to suggest that to you as that depends on the area of operation, what she normally charges on a daily basis and so on.

She should also consider the length of travel to this company as well. She wants to get a good price in order to try to beat out other competition without cutting her own throat on profit.

Sorry I couldn't be more help! I wish you the best and hope you get this one!
