How do I sell bait fish I catch and chum I make to bait stores?

At the moment I know I need a resident commercial fishing license to legally sell bait.

I've been trying to contact baitstores about selling them shiners and frozen chum but am having no luck.

I'm not good when it comes to talking to people. But I do know how to say "Hi, do you want to buy bait from me?" lol.

Any hints tips, suggestions or links would be most appreciated. Thanks

Ok we will say you are legal and want to sell bait and chum to local shops.

You do understand that you will need to be able to keep up with the supply needed for the shops and this is a problem sometimes with shops buying from a local person and not a distibuter.

I will give you a base to go by and see if you could keep a full supply of live shiners for me! I would need just for the one shop every week 8 to 14 pounds of live shiners now if you could keep this up for at least several shops you may want to stick with one bait shop only.

Go to a shop and give a entry level price so they can get a feel for the quality of bait and service you can give.

For the chum it should be packaged for resale so the shops will have a quality product to offer the public.

On average live shiners may sell for around $6 to $8 per pound.

You will need tanks to give the minnows a good place for transport with a full supply of o2 to keep the bait lively.

Find out how much the bait stores are buying their bait. Tell them you could sell them bait at a lower price and better quality than anyone else. Give them some free samples and if they think your price and quality is better than anyone elses, you got customers.
