I miss my dad. He waited until I left to pass away in the nursing home. He was pussy whipped by mom. I think him and me could have had a wonderful relationship if she didn't stop us from bonding. Now that mom is in a nursing home, I wish I had my father to talk to and be with. I'm sorry for your loss. Hugs

Being present with a loved one at the moment of death is a very special thing, I believe. My wife was fortunate to be present during that time with both her father and mother.
I was never present for any of my family that passed away but present during this moment for a fair number of total strangers and acquaintances. It still is something special. A silent prayer to the one that is passing will be noticed by the person passing. You will see your loved ones again and then death wont have any power over you anymore.
God bless you.

When my father passed we all knew he would not make it through the night and watched little by little his body slow down and during his last breath I walked in ( I remember it being so long in between each one ) and it has definatly had an effect on me but I do look at it in a way of being blessed by being able to say my good-byes. That will be 14 years ago on Febuary 4th and it will remain with me forever. Also , he died at home which I felt was more peaceful.

Its very hard to let a loved one go, I held my husband in my arms until he passed. Hardest thing I ever had to do, he was at home where he wanted to be.
