Why do my dust buster's keep dieing?

This has happened to me twice. I get a new dust buster, it works fine for a few days, and then it will work for a second or two, and then it slows to a halt. I clean out the dirt, and recharge it, but it still does the same thing. I've also cleaned out the gunk behind some foam piece.

My husband is big into electrical stuff and he explained to me that dust busters are just plain too big to hold a charge. He says it is a ridiculous idea that they made an appliance like that. We got one as a wedding gift and it died, too.

I have a corded Dirt Devil hand vac and it works great. Nice long cord, too. I use it on the stairs, the upholstery, vacuuming the car. I'd be lost without it.

Wish I could answer this better, but I've had the same problem. Registered for a hand vac for our wedding, have used it only a COUPLE of times, and now it sounds funny and has no suction, and I've had this happen before, too. No idea, but I'm starting to suspect they aren't made very well.
