Where can I buy a particular aquarium fish? Female electric blue johanni?
I am looking to buy two female electric blue johannis (there are two fish by that name I am looking for the one with the female that looks like the male, not yellow). The proper name is the maingano or Melanochromis cyaneorhabdos. Does anyone know where I could buy just two females?
I am actually not positive my fish is male, so I might be looking for a male and a female.

Your best bet is to go to a privately owned pet store (not a chain) and have them order these for you.
All pet stores have access to weekly lists by wholesale fish suppliers, and that's how they order the species and number of fish they get in. How soon they might be able to get them will depend on their availability from the wholesalers. If the store is interested in your business, they'll order the fish for you (or take your name and contact info). Some stores may require a deposit.

Mine didn't turn yellow yet either. When they get bigger, 4-5 inches maybe, thats when they will turn to they're mature colors. mine are 2 inches. What you could also do is feed them accordingly. The african cichlids get their color from pigmenting. pigmented food is what gives them color. My mbunas need algae, with high protien, which i feed bloodworms
