the city was invaded by large insects, human sized.
they were similar to praying mantis
one guy was fighting the queen and his blood was contaminated with something so it was poisonous to it so she was circling him and he say something on the lines of "she must kill me without spilling a drop of my blood"
I think early in the movie there is a old ship being excavated and some guy sneaks in and tries to put a bra on the front of the boat

Could it be the "Final Days of Planet Earth"? It aired on the Sci-Fi channel in 2006, starring Campbell Scott and Daryl Hannah. It's listed on Amazon, and you can read the detailed reviews at this link.

The only movie I can think of that sounds like the one you describe is the movie called Mimic The insects where cockroaches.

In the movie the insects do became human size. They somehow mimic themselves look like a humans. Then partly hiding in the darkness and trap there victims. The human size cockroaches also have hive beneath the subway.
If you like science fiction and haven't seen this movie you should hire it out for night.
