I have written and met with my Congressmen. (The Senators haven't seen fit to write back...)

I've had the pleasure to meet the President.

I've also sat down and talked to my State Legislators as well as the former governor. (Helps when you live in the capital of the state.)

Yes I have and will continue to so. Though many times I receive the non-commital type form letter in response. Doesn't deter the fact I want my voice heard. This is a large part of being an United States citizen. If it is a government of the people, by the people, and for the people. The People damn well need to speak up.

John Warner, Tom Davis and Jim Webb have all heard from me. Additionally, I write the elected officials from other states regarding legislation they've introduced. If you go to their websites, you'll find that many of them have it set up that they only accept email from people in their districts or state. A way to get around that is to look up the local office address for a Representative and use it. For Senators, use the address of the state capital.

I've written to each of my representatives or senators at least once. Usually about a particular problem of concern to me.

I've also met most of them in person.

I commend their staff for actually reading my letter and not giving me a canned response, even though they have all been rather non-committal.

I find that they are great at getting the attention of federal agencies if you are having problems with them.

All the time. Most of the time it actually does good. All except for the "form letter" responses I am happy with the idea.

I used to some years ago, but they don't give a crap about anything we have to say anymore. They all work for the super-rich and they all know it.

I wrote to my Senator. Diane Feinstein

Source(s): I don't want to see another Republican in the White House for 80 years. Bush scares me. I want a President that knows how to pronounce nuclear. I want a President, not a moronic monkey. I want change.
