Had it done 20 years ago. Nothing changes still get the awesome feeling when you ejaculate. It is just seminal fluid no sperm. No worries re pregnancy save on condoms or birth control pills which is great as i was always a bit concerned about her taking pills which interfered with her body. Did not have the op though until we had children and health wise it was the best option for my wife. Good luck tell him its all cool.

No one thing, in a mans life carries more "Urban legend" than a vasectomy. Don't listen to anyone that has never had one.

I had mine done 20 years ago. Everything works and feels the same. I have no scar. Had I lost the memory of the surgery, I would have never known it was done.

Some men say sex is better because they don't have any fear of pregnancy. I think that is somewhat true.

Economically a vasectomy is a good plan. I had all the baby-fee sex I wanted for the last 20 years for about $1.50 a month. I have to admit that was money well spent.

One more thing. It really does not hurt. Most men remember falling to the ground in pain when they accidentally got hit there in grade school. A vasectomy does not feel like that at all. It hurts less than getting a tattoo, and much less than a body piercing.

What they do is give a local anesthetic and cut and tie the tube from his testicles. So he will still ejaculate but there should be semen in it. It should not decrease his sexual sensation since the nerves for that is not near the testicles. There have been reports of people becoming impotent, but those were in the pass where this was not done so regularly. But there there is also cause of impotency due to the mind. Because they are shooting blanks now some men cannot get an erection because they think they are less than a man but usually counseling helps the man get over that

I'm 61. In 1977, I had a vasectomy. Then it cost $200 (covered any problems that might occur...which they didnt'). I went in on a Friday morning. The assistant shaved my scrotum, gave me a shot that felt like a pinch (only in the skin). I laid back on the bed. After a while, the doc came in, poked the skin on my scrotum and I said I couldn't feel it. He explained everything he was doing. He cut a VERY SMALL incision in the scrotum. He then pulled out the first vas deferens, cut it, cut 2 cm off and then cauterized both ends. I felt nothing, only smelled the burning flesh. He then pulled the second one out and repeated the procedure. He sewed me up with 2 stitches. He asked how I was feeling. I told him when he pulled the vas deferens out, it felt like he was pulling the top of my head in. We both laughed. It was a normal feeling. NO PAIN.

I went home, put on a pair of speedos (yup, we wore them back then...I had just returned from 3 1/2 years in Sardinia, Italy, and that's what men wore), got a bag of frozen peas and held them against my scrotum. My sons teased me. I laid about being babied by my wife, mother-in-law and sisters-in-law. My oldest sister-in-law wanted to see the stitches! She'd have freaked if I did show her (she was 17).

The next day, Saturday, we went to my in-laws for a cook out. I sat around. Sunday I skipped church, but my wife and boys went. I got 3 calls that after noon asking how I was doing (2 guys, one lady).

Monday, I went back to work...desk work at the naval air station weapons department.

I went back to the doc for a sperm count 2 weeks later, and 2 weeks after that. I was free.

We didn't have to worry about birth control pills or condoms anymore. We made love when and where we wanted. One time my wife bent over to pick something up (she always had a cute butt) and I couldn't control myself. We've been banned from Farm Fresh supermarket for life.

Sex is great. No little guys to make other little guys/gals.

Have him do some online research. I went to the library (1977, remember?) and did my own research. I had no questions when I went for the operation.

    Good luck and enjoy yourself!

There is no physical reason for the sensation to change. But don't down play the psychological effect. Also my wife insisted that I do it. Then left 5 years later.

Nothing to worry about in getting this procedure done. I have had it; and there is no difference in the love making side of this. If anything, its allowed me the freedom of 2wice to 3 times a day sometimes. Its an awesome freedom to have, especially as she has really been enjoying the freedom of allowing me to cut loose inside.

The sensation is just as good as before. The freedom to stay inside is great.

My husband had one nearly thirty years ago and we both say it was the best money ever spent.

Sure, he was a bit sore for a couple of days but within a week he was back to his usual horny self. It is no different. He just ejaculates seminal fluid and no sperm.

my husband was the same way but finally decided it was more scoary for me to keep having kids. He had it done almost 5 years ago and he is fine he tells all his guy friends to do it it isn't as bad as you think it is. Good luck

It's actually better - because you don't have to worry about getting pregnant. :-)

It's scary, but all the scary is before having it done. Afterwards it's like . . .wow, that was just a scratch.
