Is there a kind of mental illness that makes you unable to move past a particular negative thought or feeling?
My teenage daughter also shows signs of this problem. Please help if you possibly can. Thank you very, very much.

That is too vague to figure out if there is a mental illness going on or not. It could be a symptom of depression, or OCD or something else, but then there would be other symptoms too, like not being interested in stuff you like to do, having to sleep too much, or not be able to sleep, etc.
Cognitive behavioral therapy counseling helps people work thru their problems. I recommend it. It helped me with sex abuse problems, and does help me a little bit with bipolar problems (and I do get stuck on stuff, but it is the bipolar disorder, and you wouldn't be wondering if you had a mental illness if you were bipolar. You would know it).
Good luck
PS you could see if you can get a workbook at the bookstore and try that first.

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder....If something traumatic happened. Easily treated. Depression in teens is common and treatable....and usually outgrown as the brain developes. Get her a psychiatrist ASAP....preferably a child psychiatrist
